CFSA Reunion 2003

The 2003 Reunion took place on Thursday 10 July and Air Chief Marshal Brian Burridge, Commander-in-Chief Strike Command, was our Guest of Honour. The Reunion followed the normal format, with the AGM (Minutes to be published later) and a full flying display in the afternoon. The dinner was combined with the graduation of No 398 Flying Instructors Course and the award of the many CFS Trophies. Following the traditional speeches about their graduating students by the squadron commanders, our guest of honour gave us a facinating insight into his experiences as the British Component Commander in the recent Iraq conflict.

Trenchard Memorial Trophy

For the first time in a number of years the Commandant was pleased to invite ACM Burridge to present the Trenchard Memorial Trophy which is enscribed, "Entrusted in 1959 by CFS Association to the CFS in memory of the Viscount Hugh Montague Trenchard, Marshal of the Royal Air Force, for periodic award for outstanding contribution to the art of flying instruction". The Trophy was awarded to Squadron Leader Pete Foster of No 100 Squadron at RAF Leeming.
